I'm cleaning up my links list and want to take my old RPGs off there, so I'm putting the links to them here for my future reference:

[livejournal.com profile] farfromgracerpg - I played Peter Pettigrew and Evangelos Rosier in Far From Grace. I applied for Peter on a whim, because I was tired of seeing Marauder-era games where Sirius, Remus, and James were taken and Peter was just mentioned in passing. I firmly believe Peter was truly their friend for years, and just a bit weak. I tried to make him a deeply flawed but still sympathetic character, and as he was struggling with his hidden attraction to men, he eventually became involved with Remus--a relationship that was, to a certain extent, Peter's salvation, even though he ended up losing it in the end.

[livejournal.com profile] culpaepatria - Sins of the Fathers, a post-war Harry Potter game where I played Remus Lupin, who was involved with Tonks for a while and then became involved with Snape after discovering he hadn't really been a traitor. This one was fun because Remus was the Alpha of the werewolves who had defected from Fenrir Greyback's pack. They had driven Greyback out, and Greyback ended up returning and challenging Lupin, who had to fight for supremacy.

[livejournal.com profile] rcsnupin - the Snape/Lupin archive from Ruat Coelum RPG, a post-HBP game which was sadly hosted at GreatestJournal. The game itself is lost, but the Snupin archive remains.

The RPG I was proudest of, Artifice, was also hosted on GreatestJournal, sadly. It was AU Harry Potter and featured a world where Grindelwald had taken over much of Europe, Africa, and India, and had made inroads into other parts of the world. There was a drastically altered world map, Muggles were, at least under Grindelwald, subjugated by the wizards. The only 'canon' characters we had were Orion and Regulus Black and Tom Riddle (who had not yet become Voldemort, as he was Grindelwald's second-in-command). It was all kinds of fun, and I miss it, and now we don't even have the archive. :(

I got my start in online RPG with Walpurgis Night, but that was hosted on GreatestJournal and nothing of that remains except the scenes I saved on my computer in Word format. LOL

And of course I continue in RPG with [livejournal.com profile] bau_rpg, which is in the Criminal Minds fandom and is, honestly, the best game I've ever had the privilege of playing in. I truly like every single player in this game and feel close to everyone. The writing is superb on all levels. The relationships are complicated and interesting. I have read every bit of every scene, which hasn't always been the case in games I've played (you know how it is, sometimes the only scenes you really find interesting are your own, and that's NOT the case in BAU RPG). We've just closed a major case (the Reaper/George Foyet) in [livejournal.com profile] bau_rpg and are entering some down time with Christmas parties and the like. We have a reading comm at [livejournal.com profile] bau_rpg_readers where players and non-players alike can post thoughts, commentary, questions, and discussion. And we're always open to applications for characters like Haley Brooks Hotchner, Sean Hotchner, Ambassador Prentiss, and other secondary characters.

Man, can't believe I've gone 24 days without a [livejournal.com profile] culpaepatria update. Maybe it's slowed down a little... *looks* No, I don't think that's it... Previous summary posts can be found here.

As we left our intrepid heroes, Remus was about to face down Fenrir for the second time. A few hours after sending his letter to Harry, he tracks Fenrir down. Fenrir flees this time, badly wounded.

The next day, Remus meets with Parvati and learns that Sally-Ann was the one who murdered Dudley. He promises to let Parvati tell Harry herself, though he does arrange to meet Harry over the weekend.

On Wedesday, 1 August, Millicent, Greg, and Remus, show up at Severus' safe house for an impromptu dinner date. It does not go at all well. After Millicent and Greg leave, Remus and Severus have a row about the whole thing and end up discussing their future living arrangements. Hermione is released from her unjust imprisonment by the Ministry.

The next day, Fenrir murders Seren Montgomery, prompting a Prophet article and a spate of letters from various people to Remus. Remus is NOT pleased; his attitude is taking a rather anti-wizard turn. That same day, Cho murders Parvati at the Ministry (and fortunately for Cho, the murder can be pinned neatly on Sally-Ann). Harry owls Remus about it, and Remus eventually owls Lavender to let her know. In the meantime, Dudley's corpse is reanimated and floating around Knockturn Alley.

On Friday, Millicent visits Severus and has a strange encounter. She later owls Remus, concerned for Severus, whom she suspects of being high. Remus and Tonks meet at the Hog's Head for very awkward conversation and drinks. Remus comes clean about his relationship with Severus, and she tells him she's seeing Charlie Weasley. After that, Remus goes to Knockturn Alley, where Morag fills him in on Dudley's reanimated corpse and Remus makes her promise to take care of Harry, should Fenrir kill Remus. immediately after leaving Morag, Remus goes to Number 12 Grimmauld Place for a serious conversation with Harry. Some time after midnight, Remus uses his mirror to call Severus and ask him about the whole 'Severus being hopped up on potions' thing.

On 4 August the Ministry announces the Omnicapable Magical Government Werewolf Task Force (aka OMGWTF) to be headed by [livejournal.com profile] hestia_sotf, its purpose being "to hunt down and arrest these dangerous werewolves in our midst". Harry and Sally-Ann have a struggle resulting in Sally-Ann's death. The Prophet runs obituaries on Seren and Parvati but not on Sally-Ann. Severus decides he is fondest of Remus when he's not around.

Saturday Hestia owls Remus to let him know about her appointment to OMGWTF and they meet to discuss the new Ministry policies. Ron owls Remus to have drinks, but Remus never hears from him again. Harry owls Remus to tell him Sally-Ann is dead. Severus, in the meantime, is still planning a black-market potions business with Daphne Greengrass.

Sunday night Remus and Fenrir face off, and Remus kills Fenrir. One of the werewolves owls Severus, who arrives and takes Remus to St Mungo's. Severus then sends a number of owls, in varying degrees of obnoxiousness, to Millicent, Hestia, Harry, and Remus' parents, to let them know Remus is in hospital. This prompts a spate of visitors: Tonks, Hestia, and Harry (who rows with Severus). After Harry's visit, Remus and Severus have a discussion in which Severus promises to come live with Remus and the werewolves.

The next day Severus takes Hestia to the werewolf camp so she can document Fenrir's death. Later that day, John and Celeste Lupin arrive and meet Severus. Remus and his father have a polite disagreement and Celeste realises that Severus is "oh, that Severus". She is happier about it than John is. The Ministry announces a cure for the mysterious mousekin-transmitted pox, and Severus is not happy about taking a potion of unknown origin made by unknown brewers.

Fenrir's Death On Friday 10 August Arthur visits Remus. Shortly thereafter Remus is released and goes to the Yorkshire safehouse with Severus. On Sunday Remus and Severus row, but also make the most of their last day together before Remus returns to the pack.

In the meantime, Hestia owls Severus on the 9th to inform him that she is taking over as his parole officer. They meet in an official capacity the next day. The day after Remus goes home, a high-as-a-kite Severus runs into Hermione in Diagon Alley and proceeds to pass out on her. When he wakes up, he has a note that he's promised her a Dreamless Sleep potion, but can't remember any of it. The next day he visits Eileen and That Richard, has a fight with That Richard, and makes his mum cry.

The Ministry announces Fenrir's death, omitting Remus' involvement entirely, and hints at broader werewolf legislation in the works. The next day Minister Scrimgeour announces the creation of safe-houses built for werewolves and urges private citizen groups to watchdog the FAIR parolees.

Furious about the Ministry's latest moves, Remus owls Hestia his surprise (haha) at the Ministry's taking the credit for his killing Fenrir. He also owls Severus that the pack is moving.

The next day Remus sends Severus a postcard from the pack's new location--Coleford, Glos, UK (see picture). (Read the back). Amused and pleased, Severus owls him the next day and they exchange some rather lengthy letters. Remus also sends Hestia an Untraceable owl thanking her for the casserole.

Remus' postcard In the meantime, Bellatrix, still on the lam, decides she needs someone to help her create havoc. She kidnaps Andromeda and poses as her to visit Rabastan, whom she breaks out of Azkaban. They decide to go after Severus. Hermione makes the mistake of asking Severus to use Legilimency on her to discover what trauma she can't remember from her time in Azkaban.

On 18 August, Severus follows his tracking charm on Remus' caravan to visit him, and they have kinky sex and then snuggle. Spurred by guilt as a result of a conversation about honesty, Severus owls Remus on Wednesday 22 August, saying they must talk. Remus comes to see him on Thursday, and Severus drops several Stunners on him, including the fact that Severus is dependent on pain potions and Dreamless Sleep. Remus asks Severus to come live with him until he is ready to step down as Alpha, and Severus agrees.

The day after the confession, Remus tries to face what Severus has told him, only to decide he will make a list and deal with it later. (Just call him Scarlett.)

On 14 July 1999 Remus tells Severus he loves him.  This initially causes problems, but eventually they come to terms with it.  Later that day Millicent asks Severus for potions and he correctly deduces that she is pregnant.  A few days later Severus meets Draco in a Knockturn Alley pub; he tells Draco about his relationship with Remus and agrees to help Draco kill Lucius.  He is still annoyed that Remus loves him.

He is, however, quite amused that Hermione is in Azkaban.  In an attempt to clear Hermione's name and get her released, Theo owls Severus and they arrange a time to meet.  Severus reconnects with former apprentice [livejournal.com profile] daphne_sotf and they decide to start a black market potions business.  Severus later meets with Theo and shares some information about Hermione's other employees.

On 21 July Remus tracks down Fenrir and informs him that this town isn't big enough for both of them.  Shortly thereafter he goes to Severus to get patched up.

In the meantime, a group of Slytherins plus Ginny have been dealing with the restless and vindictive spirit of Vincent Crabbe, who isn't pleased at having been killed.  Draco owls Remus asking for advice on defending against spirits.  Remus replies that he should ask Severus about Occlumency, to which Severus takes exception. Draco owls Remus complaining about Severus.

Remus, following up on his agreement with Severus, owls Arthur about a time they can sit down and talk.  He has been intending to inform Harry about his relationship with Severus as well, and has already decided to do so when Dudley is found murdered. Remus goes to check on Harry and they end up having a gut-wrenching conversation.  Afterwards Remus reflects on his fatherly love for Harry and then owls Severus, Parvati, and Morag, hoping he can gather some information about Dudley's murder.

Millicent drops by Severus' house to get some help and information.  Severus is annoyed, and Millie is unfazed.  When he comes around to check the wards, Millicent and Greg ask Severus to be their baby's godfather and then Millicent owls Remus about having dinner with them.

Severus is bored with his life, though he reflects a bit on his relationship with Lupin and how odd it must look from the outside.  He later modifies his wards to allow Millicent, Daphne, and Remus.  Millie has won a small victory without even knowing it.  Parvati owls Remus that she's dying to see him, and they try to arrange a time for her to pass along information.

For some reason, Severus decides it would be a good idea to visit Remus at the werewolf camp, which he later comes to regret.  Later that night Severus is experimenting with potions, and one goes asplody.  Millicent sends a rather terse owl informing Remus of this, and he barges into St Mungo's to make certain Severus is all right.

Remus visits Arthur the day after the full moon and comes clean about his relationship with Severus; they end up having a nice talk, once the Firewhiskey is mopped up off the table.  Morag owls Remus about who killed her brother.

Sunday night Remus is unable to sleep, knowing he is about to go after Fenrir a second time, and thinking about Harry and Severus.  He sends his birthday present to Harry a day early, and tries to convey how much he loves Harry.  Harry replies that Remus had better not consider this a goodbye, and orders him to come back in one piece.

Severus' Wanted PosterPicking up where we left off...  Remus has taken his leave of business and pleasure for the moment to deal with the pack and the Greyback Situation.  On 4 July arrives in the Tees Forest and finds the pack.  Severus seems to miss him, if his sending Remus an old wanted poster of himself two days later is any indication.  Remus is appreciative, but the next owl he receives from Severus is about Pansy's body being discovered.

Remus owls Draco and then owls Millicent with his condolences about Pansy.

On 10 July Remus misses Severus so much he contacts him via the mirrors and they set up a date for a visit.  Later that night Remus gets word from Morag of something suspicious regarding Draco and Hannah Abbott, and he owls Severus with questions about that.

Friday night Remus is lonely and tired.  He receives an owl from Morag about a zombie of Narcissa Malfoy, which confuses him.

The next day, he visits Severus, and makes the mistake of saying three loaded words aloud.

Picking up where we left off, 19 June 1999...

Remus runs into Millicent in Diagon Alley and she twits him about Snape.  Later that night Bill Floo-calls him and they hash out the Tonks situation and their business plan.  In the meantime, Severus has an unpleasant encounter with his employer, aka Hermione Granger.

A second child is slaughtered in Hogsmeade.  Remus decides to send the birthday present he bought for Tonks before they broke up.  A third child in Hogsmeade is killed.  Millicent owls Remus asking if he knows someone who could ward her new flat.

On the 23rd Remus visits Severus and Severus actually apologises for outing him as a werewolf.  The next day Remus runs into Seren Montgomery, whose brother was killed by a werewolf two years earlier.  He feels guilty and thinks about the pack and the full.

Severus owls Remus about Lucius Malfoy.  Remus owls Bill about proposed fees.  Draco owls Remus and various others about the fact that his father has begun sending him pieces of Pansy.  Goyle owls Remus about warding his flat.  The next day Remus keeps his appointment to ward Millicent's flat.

Two nights before the full moon, Luna owls Remus asking about the flat Harry has been calling an Order safehouse.  That same night, a restless Remus visits Severus, and they discuss Greyback, werewolf mating, and Severus' job dissatisfaction.

The next day, Remus wards Goyle's flat after some rather awkward small talk.

The day of the full moon, Arthur forgets his lunar calendar and owls Remus.  Fortunately Remus doesn't eat the owl, though he does have plans, even as a wolf.  That same day, Fenrir pays a visit to the pack.  Lucius sends him an owl, which does get eaten.  Severus gets stuck in the lift with Hermione, who makes some unfortunate guesses.

The day after the full moon, Remus wakes up in Severus' bed with no memory of how he got there.  Severus spends the day taking care of him, and Remus confesses he is quite fond of him.  Fenrir wakes up in a cave and wonders who he has eaten.  He eventually answers the owl Lucius had sent him.

In the meantime, Parvati is meeting with Sally-Ann as part of her agreement with Remus to spy on the FAIR parolees.  Bill comes up with a name for the business and owls Remus about Bes Home Protection.  Severus quits his job.  Remus and Arthur exchange some owls about Ginny and Luna's new home.

Remus writes a long journal entry about the full, Dav Stewart, and his relationship with Severus.

Remus and Parvati meet to discuss her information.  When he gets home, Remus Floo-calls Bill to talk business and let him know he's heading up to the werewolf pack.  Then it's off to Yorkshire, where he brings Severus a present and they have a serious discussion about how things are going to change when Remus goes back to his pack.

For previous summaries, go here.

Well, June has been a busy, busy month for our favourite werewolf.  It doesn't start out well.

Witch Weekly 1 June 1999Witch Weekly publishes some libellous stories about Remus.  Stories that Severus sees at work.  When Remus sees the magazine in one of his classes, he gets pissed and visits Severus, which has interesting results.  Later that week, Remus owls Severus to invite him on a date.  Severus agrees, then owls Remus to reschedule.

In the meantime, Remus' favourite magazine invites everyone to honour the Witch and Wizard of the Year at a ball.  Draco owls Severus that Pansy is missing.  Tonks packs up her flat and moves home, then owls Remus' things back to him.  This makes Remus feel rotten, even though he's also happy about Severus.  He makes a trip to the Diagon Alley Library, where he receives books and (thanks to the articles) flirting from Marietta Edgecombe.  Arthur owls Remus that Morag MacDougal is interested in joining the Order.

Severus gets dragged off to Wizengamot-mandated counselling.  He owls Lucius Malfoy that the requested potion is finished.  He then owls Remus about Malfoy, and a frustrating exchange of owls ensues.

In Australia, Fenrir Greyback sees Remus on the cover of Witch Weekly and vows to return to England.

Bill Weasley talks to Tonks and finds out his business partner is newly single.  Remus finally responds to Tonks' letter and sends one to Andromeda as well; both owls go unanswered.

Severus owls Lucius expressing interest in Pansy, to which Lucius foolishly replies with threats.  This makes Severus send a ranting owl to Remus about Malfoy.  Remus urges Severus not to do anything rash, like murder Malfoy.

Hermione owls Remus that [livejournal.com profile] parvati_sotf is interested in sharing information with the Order about the FAIR parolees.

Remus and Severus finally go on a date to The York Arms, a Muggle pub in York.  Remus has inadvertantly chosen a gay-friendly pub, which makes for interesting ogling and opportunities for jealousy.  When Remus returns home, he has a very rude owl from Bill waiting for him.  After reading it and sending a curt reply, he loses his temper and punches a window, then reflects on how life with the werewolf pack has changed him.

Harry owls Remus asking him to join in a deception, of the best-intended sort.  Remus owls Parvati and arranges a meeting.

Fenrir arrives in England.

At St Mungo's, Severus is caught pilfering potions ingredients by [livejournal.com profile] sallyann_sotf.  Later that day, Severus meets with Draco and the fallout inspires some interesting owls from Millicent, Hannah, and Draco.  The most interesting, however, is from Remus, and that leads to a rather passionate impromptu visit.

The night of the Witch Weekly ball, Remus goes to visit Severus and ends up spending the night.  That same night, Hadrian Yaxley tortures Andromeda Tonks and leaves her for dead on the steps of the ballroom.  The Daily Prophet prints a story, which prompts Remus to owl his support to Tonks, who doesn't take it well.

Severus goes to visit his mum and That Richard.  The next day he runs into Millicent, who continues provoking him about his choice of romantic partner.

Remus and Arthur meet with Morag about the Order.  Morag barely restrains herself from jumping Remus' bones.  A few days later Morag owls Remus that Goyle is looking for Pansy, and asking for help finding new accommodations.  Oddly, Luna sends Remus a similar owl about accommodations.  Contrary to popular belief, Remus is not running a Bed & Breakfast.  Remus owls Harry about both girls.  He also owls Parvati and Severus asking about Andromeda's attack.  He makes a to-do list and speculates on various things.

A child in Hogsmeade is brutally attacked and killed.  Remus wonders if it is related to Andromeda's attack.
innerslytherin: (culpae patria)
So where were we?  Oh yes, Remus was attracted to Severus, and tried to assuage his guilt by mentioning marriage to Tonks.  Never a wise idea.

So...Monday, after being woken by a randy Tonks, Remus agonizes over his situation and decides he can't see Severus again, for any reason.  That afternoon, Severus owls him with information and a broken window.  This displeases Remus.  Remus goes to Severus' safehouse and mends the window, during which they have a conversation that eventually makes Remus flee.

Despite his cowardly behaviour Monday night, Remus goes to St Mungo's to visit [livejournal.com profile] draco_sotf as he promised Severus he would.  He later owls Severus to let him know about Draco and to apologise for his own cowardice.  Severus doesn't respond.

Tuesday is the night before the full moon.  Remus gets pissed and broods about his situation.  His pissing and brooding is interrupted by an owl from Arthur Weasley, which he answers.  He then rather unwisely sends another owl to Arthur, basically asking for advice about relationships.  He then proceeds to write several drunken owls, which he fortunately doesn't send.

In an unrelated subplot that suddenly and briefly crosses paths with Remus', Greg Goyle drunk-owls Snape, wanting to know why Millicent had got angry and left.  (Goyle/Bulstrode FTW, y'all)  Not that Severus would know, being a virgin and never kissed and whatnot.  Snape sends a rather sweet response the next day.

In the meantime, [livejournal.com profile] bill_sotf and Remus have been discussing a business idea--private security.  Remus talks Harry into joining the venture.  The night before the full moon, Bill owls the Lords of Chaos (aka the Twins) about possible product lines.

The morning after the full, Tonks visits Remus to keep him company while he recovers.  Said recovery is interrupted by an owl from Severus, and Things Crash and Burn.

Tonks goes to her mum's house, where she tells Andromeda what has happened.  She also owls Draco and has Andromeda owl Katie, who comes to visit.  Almost as soon as Katie leaves, Draco shows up.

Remus calls himself names in his journal.  Severus does too.  Remus writes some letters but doesn't send them, then writes some letters that he actually does send.

Subtitle: Guilty Men Do Stupid Things

[livejournal.com profile] _lore requested periodic updates of the progress of things at [livejournal.com profile] culpaepatria, the post-war Harry Potter RPG I'm in.  Specifically, the progress of Remus-related things. *grin*  So I shall provide a brief summary, with fun links. And I shall also mention that [livejournal.com profile] culpaepatriafan is the community for comments. *grin*

At the opening of the game, some three weeks ago, [livejournal.com profile] remus_sotf and [livejournal.com profile] tonks_sotf have been in an established relationship for the three-year duration of the war.  Since the end of the war, some six months ago, Remus has been helping Minerva with things at Hogwarts and teaching Defence Against the Dark Arts.  He is full of doubts about his ability to make Tonks happy, and confusion about why he isn't happier teaching at the school.  After serving as Head of the Order since Dumbledore's death, he feels as if he has no purpose in his life.

Fortunately, the Ministry, obliging as ever, does a few things to at least make Remus' life more interesting.

They start by releasing [livejournal.com profile] snape_sotf from Azkaban, upon discover of the evidence that he was helping the Order all along.  Then they release several young Death Eaters on parole as part of a rehabilitation programme.  And then they let [livejournal.com profile] hermione_sotf begin work on a werewolf study, in hopes of finding a cure.  Remus isn't sure about the study, but he is definitely troubled by Snape's release.

While returning to the school from London, Remus runs into Snape in Hogsmeade, and they have a very unpleasant first encounter.  There is shouting, name-calling, and only Aberforth's interference prevents it from devolving into hexes and brawling.  Severus departs, but Aberforth's last words stick with Remus, prompting him to owl Snape--leading to a hostile exchange of owls.

To Remus' surprise, some days later, Severus owls him an apology.  Remus is so confused by it that he doesn't respond. (Unbeknownst to Remus, Severus has decided that since Lupin is "Surprisingly Straight", Severus has nothing to lose by being friendly to him.)  In the meantime, Remus' relationship with Tonks seems to be going VERY well.

Then Bellatrix and Lucius Malfoy escape from Azkaban.  Remus wants to make sure Severus is safe from vengeful Death Eaters.  Then Lucius pays a little visit to Severus, prompting Severus to owl Remus for a meeting.

They meet at the Hog's Head, and in the awkward cooperation that follows, Remus offers Severus the use of an Order safehouse in the Yorkshire Dales, which Severus accepts.  Severus is understandably discouraged at the fact that he is once again trapped in a life of spying.  Some time later, Severus tells Remus that the safe house is a leaky shack and requires repair.  Remus, who has often made a living as an itinerant carpenter and odd-job man, says he will stop by after classes on Friday to inspect the house.  In the meantime, Remus has trouble sleeping, while Severus tries to think of something to seduce Remus.

Friday night rolls around, and Remus does indeed arrive at the safehouse, where he promptly surprises Severus by inviting himself to spend the night and begin work the next day.  At Dinner, they actually (gasp!) talk without arguing.  There is a remarkable amount of UST in the air, and Remus spends the next day reroofing the cottage while Severus ogles watches.  Remus is angry at himself for feeling attracted to Severus while he is in a relationship with Tonks.  Severus is just angry at Tonks for having Remus.

Remus, forced to stay another night by the extent of the project, suffers flashbacks from the war, which lead to a midnight discussion that is very unsettling for them both.  He leaves on Sunday, and eventually decides to visit Tonks, to assuage his guilt.  He takes flowers and wine, and brings up the topic of marriage, which surprises them both and makes him question his own sanity.  The next morning Tonks wakes him up amorously and he seemingly forgets his guilt.

But guilty men do stupid things.  Remus is certainly no exception.

REMUS!

*grins* I may be crazy...it's too early to tell.  But I thought I'd introduce you all to [livejournal.com profile] remus_sotf, the man who is going to be taking up more of my time in future.

I have [livejournal.com profile] ink_addict to blame thank for this, though [livejournal.com profile] larinzia and [livejournal.com profile] empressvesica are accomplices.  And I dragged [livejournal.com profile] thesnapelyone into it with me, so y'all know what you can expect eventually.  It'll be interesting.  I'm suddenly playing a bisexual Remus who is currently with Tonks.  I'm definitely taking on new challenges these days.

Also - TONKS IS A HUFFLEPUFF?!  WTF.

So much for scaling back my fandom involvement. *grin*
