Dear LiveJournal,

Thank you for getting in touch with me again, but I'm really tired of the notifications about free snowflake cookies. I realize that I have a bunch and that everyone on my flist has a bunch. But at this point, I'm going to have to break out a snow shovel just to get to the real email in my inbox. It's getting annoying.

Love,

Snowbound in Indy

PS - Yes, I'm aware that I can turn the notification feature off. I did that last night. So why you're still emailing me I can only imagine is something to do with the notification failures this weekend.

Dear Allergies,

I take Singulair every night to keep you at bay. I take Nasonex in the mornings to further hold you off. And today I've added Zyrtec and Benadryl on top of those to try to fight you away. Please to be admiting defeat and issuing forthwith your unconditional surrender.

No Love,

Little Red Running Nose

Dear Weather,

You can stop snowing and blowing 60 mph and being cold outside any time now. Do Not Want.

No Love,

Day Two of the Allergy Attack from Hell. Benadryl has been my best friend over the past two days, but I'm afraid to take the maximum dosage since it knocks me on my ass. So I've been struggling through with the smaller dosage. Today my eyes were so gritty and sore I couldn't put my contacts in. No contacts means no makeup, because I can't see well enough to put on eye makeup when my glasses are off (yes, I'm THAT blind - the eye pencil is too long and I have to be too far from the mirror). So I look like death warmed over, if death warmed over had a bright red nose.

This morning I tried counter-acting the Benadryl drowsiness with a cup of coffee, so I'm hoping that'll kick in soon.

We're finally caught up at work, but I confess, work has become tedious now that we're caught up. I end up having to key a contract three times before corporate is happy with it because of the asinine mistakes corporate makes when loading them. When we're behind, at least I only have to key it once, because by the time I get to it, corporate has caught all their mistakes. LOL

Why won't people just throw money at me in exchange for my stringing words together? I need to get this publishing thing happening.

Oh, wait, I guess that means I need to finish revising a novel, huh?

I cannot breathe. Yesterday was spent in the grips of an allergy attack that made me utterly miserable. Today I am so freaking congested I feel like my head exploding would be a relief.

I'm starting to suspect I have a summer cold instead of allergies.

Benadryl was only mildly helpful last night, so tonight I'm going to try treating it with whiskey. We'll see how that goes.

I need to wash dishes and go through some more stuff. The church is having a yard sale at the end of the month to help fund the fall mission trip to Haiti, and I have three boxes of stuff to donate to that, but I'm sure there's a LOT more stuff I could get rid of.

For that matter, I may have to wrestle with my conscious about the guitar. It's probably worth about $150 or $200, but I could use it to pay off some bills... or I could use it to help clothe a schoolkid in Haiti. *sigh* We'll see about that.

Went to see HBP finally. I was underwhelmed with much of it, even though I found it enjoyable. It's odd how utterly apathetic I feel about that fandom now that I know how the story ends. And it's strange. I never read dueSouth fanfic until the canon was closed. I never read Dark is Rising fanfic until the canon was closed. Is it that I was active in the HP fandom while canon was still being developed? Is it that I still feel the last book was rushed and that there were some deep flaws? Or what?

A few semi-spoilery-type thoughts, if anyone really needs to be warned about HBP spoilers at this point )

Wrote nearly 1000 words on my [livejournal.com profile] lupin_snape Resurrection Fest fic (the bunny attacked me in the shower as usual). I bought a 500 G My Book external hard drive last night. Today I finished moving all my movies and music to it, and most of my pictures. I have nearly 40 G free on my internal hard drive again. YAY! Also mowed most of the lawn, and have been suffering from a HORRIBLE allergy attack since then. Am exhausted, took Benadryl... going to bed before 10:30... O.o Dozed off at the computer a couple of times already. I was trying to finish off my pot of tea. Oh well, I'll set a cup by my bed and maybe I'll drink more before I sleep.

MISERY. Utter misery.

It is so disgustingly humid outside, and already hot at 8:30, and my allergies are driving me maaaad. In fact my ears have been itching really bad again for the past week, and between that and the congestion and headache, I'm wondering if I've got another sinus infection. I have some antibiotics left over from the last time, and I'd meant to experiment with taking some of them and seeing if it cleared up in a day or two. (Yes, I know you're not supposed to, but oh well. I rarely take antibiotics more than once or maybe twice a year, if that, so I don't think I'm overusing them.)

In other news, the plotbunny that attacked me in the shower is finished in draft, and has been hacked apart by [livejournal.com profile] _lore (*sends smooches to my beta*). So it's going to sit in GoogleDocs for the next week, simmering, while I work on finishing Draft Two of Duellist. I have one or maybe two scenes left to write, and then I need to do a read-through and make any general fixes and make sure the fixes I did work. Then it'll go back to [livejournal.com profile] _lore and to you, [livejournal.com profile] aunty_marion (yes, you're getting the cleaner version!)

In the meantime I have two original stories I want to be working on, because there's a call for submissions to an anthology that interests me (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] larinzia for bringing it to my attention!) and I still have my writing group's September challenge.

Gah. I really wish the Allegra would kick in.
