I honestly can't believe everything I've accomplished this weekend. I think either the Zoloft kicked in or I kicked my own ass into gear. Things I've done since Friday evening:
And now I'm off to bed by 10:30! One of these days I'll manage to get my bedtime moved back to 9:30 on work nights, but 10:30 is pretty good! G'night, all!
- Went through both closets and four of my five dresser drawers and got rid of three trashbags full of clothes. Dad dropped them off at Trinity Mission for me yesterday.
- Three loads of laundry
- Got all my exercise clothes washed and loaded into my gym bag.
- Biked several miles on the West Lafayette park system's bike trails with Mom.
- Hiked at Celery Bog and saw a green heron, a kingfisher, and lots of the usual waterfowl.
- Got my night-elf warrior up to level 37 and fished in the Stranglethorn Fishing Extravaganza. Didn't win though.
- Started working on new graphics for this year's
cm_exchange--which will be opening for sign-ups this month!
- Cleaned off my desk.
- Found DVD #1 of North and South (BBC one) and the padlock I spent 20 minutes looking for yesterday.
- Balanced my checkbook and paid all my bills--and even had money left over!
- Revised 1500 words of my original novel, including writing a brand new scene with elements of two of the old scenes.
- Rediscovered my recliner.

I am feeling rather bleh tonight, in spite of how excited I was for it to be the weekend.
Spent much of last night driving Mom to urgent care because she was having weird vision things. Last week she started noticing lots more floaters in her left eye than she's ever seen. Then yesterday she had a black spot in her vision in that eye, and started getting flashes of light in her peripheral vision. Since she is on meds for hypertension, I thought it prudent for her to see a doctor. Fortunately the doctor was very kind and assured her she wasn't having a stroke. He said he thought it was a migraine, but said she needed to see the opthalmalogist asap. So today she went to our eye doctor, who is an opthalmalogist (that's a damn hard word to type, yo) and found out she has posterior vitreous detachment. Which isn't uncommon in people over 50, and isn't serious, but she's not allowed to take up boxing. She's heart-broken, haha. It can lead to retinal tears or retinal detachment, though, so she has to keep an eye (haha) on her vision and make sure nothing changes drastically, and she goes back to the eye doctor in two months.
While I was in there with her (the nurse apparently decided she was too nervous, and Mom does hate doctor visits) I stepped on the scale and discovered I've dropped 3 pounds since last weighing myself. This is good news both for the Special K diet and for my swimsuit. I really want to wear the bikini I bought three years ago when
astraea36 and
cindale and
mike_smith, et al, originally planned this trip. (Yes, this April's trip to Vegas is me finally getting there after NOT making it to the HP convention. *sigh*) Anyway. Considering I'd gained like 20 pounds in two years (WTF BODY!? Turning thirty apparently IS a bitch.) I was afraid that might not happen. But as I've dropped 3 pounds in about two weeks, it's possible I'll be okay in the bikini, even if I'm not phenomenal. (Face it, self, you are too damn Irish-girl-pale to be phenomenal.)
Um, y'all probably didn't care about that, huh?
That's really about all the fun info I have to share. My wifey is blue tonight, so go cheer her up. I am thinking about going to bed with Joe Mantegna. Er, his voice, I mean. Reading an audiobook to me. >.> Really.
