I knew from the moment they mentioned the food chain that the FBI would be next on the list.
This episode was more unsettling than many of them have been. I guess because to me, it's utterly appalling to think of committing violence against men and women who put their lives on the line every day to serve and protect.
I can't believe Morgan uttered that appallingly trite line to the son, though. Hello, back in season two he told Elle that he knew what it was like to lose a father at that age. She said, "Their father died a hero," and Morgan replied, "Yeah, but he was still dead", or something to that effect. And now he's spouting that back at the kid? I know a writer who didn't pay attention to their Morgan canon.
Also? Where were "Young Morgan" and "Morgan's Dad"? Hmm, can anyone say "There'd better be deleted scenes"? For that matter, I want deleted scenes anyway. This episode was good, but felt rushed. Seriously, when they're FINALLY delivering the profile with only 10 minutes left? And then you put a false lead AFTER that profile? Yeah. Rushed.
A couple of casting notes: It's nice to see Frank. I always liked Joe Regalbuto on Murphy Brown, and I'm always happy to see him show up other places. And Mark Pellegrino? Well, it's nice to see him playing a good guy instead of an annoying druggie ex-con ex-husband. But I do find it amusing that he went from one serial killer show to another.
Anyone see the look on Rossi's face after the unsub pulled his gun on Hotch? Rossi looked like he didn't want to lower his gun.
And okay, be honest: Who was expecting the Jack Ruby moment? Because I totally wasn't.
Tonight's wine was the 2006 Oliver Muscat Canelli. A nice light wine with tropical hints to it.
