My friends really do know everything.  This time I need some music suggestions.

This all started with "Russian Roulette", and that song's the most important part of the playlist.  "Is It You" and "Lady Marmalade" are the others on the list that are closest to what I want.  "Precious" doesn't really belong on there, but I love it.

  1. Russian Roulette - Rihanna
  2. La Tortura (feat. Alejandro Sanz) - Shakira
  3. Blood of Me - Heather Nova
  4. Mercy - Duffy
  5. Oh La La - Goldfrapp
  6. Is It You - Cassie
  7. Precious - Esperanza Spalding
  8. Lady Marmalade - Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mya & Pink
  9. Can't Find the Words - Karina
  10. can'tneverdidnothin' (Explicit) - Nikka Costa
  11. Case of the Ex - Mya

So anything else with a really heavy, compelling (sexy is optional but good) beat?  Not just this general genre of music, but that particular driving, feel it in your chest (or a bit lower *G*) kind of beat.

There's always "Bang the Drum" by Todd Rundgren, too.

I have a LOT of Marc Broussard, because I just LOVE his voice, and his songwriting.

Actually, I love a great many New Orleans style bar bands. Cowboy Mouth is another great one for hard driving songs.

My current obsession is S&M, by Rhianna. Considering the subject matter, that can't possibly surprise you.

*shameless*

Ooh, I was listening to that song on my way home from work! Skin is my current fave off that album.

Hmm ... a good beat ...

"Can't Get You Outta My Head"-- Kylie Minogue

"Nobody wants to be lonely" --Christina Aguilera and Ricky Martin

"Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me" U2

"Murder" The Crystal Method

"Buried Alive"-- Kyle Davis

"In My Head" --Jason Derulo

That's all I got. And that's my own peculiar taste in music talking.

Ha! I have a whole iPod playlist of songs like this called "Run!", partially because they're good for motivating you to keep working out and partially because some of them are kind of embarrassing (someone found this playlist, run!). Most of these need way more bass than youtube can provide, unfortunately.

Nelly Furtado - Say It Right (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JnGBs88sL0) (also Promiscuous and Maneater)
Gwen Stefani - Hella Good (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtTj4cramPM) (also What You Waiting For and Hey Baby)
Royksopp - The Girl and the Robot (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EJUCkSMN4k) (also It's What I Want)
Garbage - Push It (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-CHEnJ7gnc) (an oldie)
Radiohead - I Might Be Wrong (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOa--Dhu11M) (this is so much better with the right bass, ie. not on youtube)
Madonna - Hung Up

I also feel compelled to link you to this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDGQTlJjCrg), but I suspect it's not going to fit your requirements ;) It has a driving beat!
