Wednesday blahs

Crappy weather this morning, ice plus snow. Don't know what it's doing out there now.
They've been having employee lunches this week to show off the new test kitchen. My turn is today. From what I've heard, the menu is 98% seafood and 1% bloody cow. I guess I will eat the 1% that is starch and carbs.
FBI hiring blitz FTW. They are hiring finance support staff in Indy, so even if I don't make special agent, maybe I'll get a support job. Hm, I wonder how the FBI feels about people writing gay fanfic porn... >.>
One of the AP ladies announced she's retiring in a month and it doesn't sound like they're going to replace her. Two other people have had their hours cut from 40 to 20. Wasn't it just yesterday that I was saying my job is secure???
This nasty-tasting stuff to stop biting my nails has worked. However every time I touch my face, I get the stuff on my face, and then if I lick my lips or something I taste it, despite not having bitten my nails for a week and a half. I'm going to have to paint them! They're almost long enough not to be embarrassing if they're painted. (Also, I have gotten much worse about chewing on my lower lip now, so it is very sore.)
Whine whine whine grump grump grump.
In happier news,
severity_softly and I finished a second HET FIC last night (and dude, this one is hawt, rowr) and are starting a third today. I know, we're losing slasher cred, aren't we? We'll get back to the hawt ghey secks any day now.
I finished Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs, and am eagerly anticipating the next in her Mercy Thompson series. I'm torn -- I'm very pleased for her that she's made the jump to hardcover, but damn, I had just finally got away from having any authors except Tamora Pierce that I had to run out and buy in hardcover. Now both she and Carrie Vaughn have transitioned. *sigh*
Speaking of Tammy Pierce, Bloodhound should be out soon. Can't wait!
And in four months I am finally going to Vegas. W00t.

Lol, I think as a general rule they don't care. One of my friends who's in told them she did during her first polygraph. ::shrug:: :P
