I need your opinion!

Is anyone still here? Surely a poll will get some interaction, right? :D

I'm working on a series of three urban fantasy novels set in Indianapolis, and while I have a working title and working cover for the first two, I'm open to opinions. Everyone has one, right?

I have questions about the cover, too. What do you think of the cover? What does the cover make you think the story is about?

I like the cover as a cover. But the urban part comes across much stronger than the fantasy part in relation to your story. It feels like a cover for a procedural romance to me, honestly. I'd probably still read it. lol But, I wouldn't expect to find it on the fantasy aisle at the bookstore.

Yeah, I was worried about that. There are no swords involved in this story, which would be a nice short-hand. I added the sparkle-swoop to try to convey "magic" but I didn't think it was strong enough, and clearly I was right. LOL

I'm guessing from the title options that there's something of a ghost (or perceived to be)? Maybe swap the figures? Make the shadowy one more prominent and the one with the gun less so? Or a cooler color palette, maybe? A purple or plum instead of the yellow, perhaps?

Yep! Basic premise is that a cop is killed in the line of duty but resuscitated in the ambulance, and when she comes back, she can see ghosts. I've jokingly called this my paranormal crime novel, but there's also a romance angle. He's a werewolf, but I've seen waaaaay too many badly-done wolves on covers to want to try to work that in there. LOL

I've been looking a buying new window coverings so right now, the word "shades" means something different to me.
