Trips to town never go as planned
Jan. 2nd, 2010 07:15 pmMy father spent an hour and a half in Best Buy. HOW do you spend an hour and a half in Best Buy? HOW? I mean, I am a bibliophile who was vetting the nook before having it ordered as my belated Christmas present next door at Barnes & Noble, and I was bored about forty minutes before he was done at Best Buy.
I still have no idea.
My feet are freaking killing me. I had been expecting to walk around a lot, but I hadn't been expecting to spend an hour at Menard's and a half hour at Staples and another hour and a half at Barnes & Noble. I mean dang.
BUT! OMG you guys I am so freaking excited about having my nook on order!!!! It's supposed to arrive around February 4, so I've obviously got quite a wait. But just knowing that it's coming is exciting enough.
I also found a new graphics card at Staples that's better than and way cheaper than the one I thought I needed to upgrade to. My dad bought me Dragon Age: Origins for Christmas, and I've been addicted to it since then (fantastic world-building, great storyline, and how freakin' cool is it that you can make NPCs fall in love with you?) but it was playing pretty laggy even with the extra GB of memory I installed this past week. So I'd been expecting to have to just play it that way, because I didn't have the $240 to buy the graphics card I thought I needed. But while at Staples today I found an even better graphics card for $119, and I had most of that left in Christmas money. So woohoo! Now I just have to save up for the iPod I want (come on, big tax return *crosses fingers*) and hope that my 4th generation will hold out long enough for that.
