I do NOT want to be here this morning. I want to be reading the book that has taken over my thoughts this week. The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss is totally absorbing and I've been reading it since Monday night and still have over a hundred pages to go. I'll finish it today, but damn. And The Wise Man's Fear doesn't come out until...next year maybe? The audio versions appear to be available in May 2010, but I can't find a publication date on the print version. And I MISSED SEEING HIM at GenCon by TWO WEEKS. If I had read this book two weeks ago I would totally have shelled out the cash for GenCon just to meet this guy and get his autograph. Damn good book.
*sigh* It makes me want to work on my epic fantasy novel again, while simultaneously thinking that I can't possibly create a world as multi-faceted, complex, and entertaining as his.
By the way, it's
sevedra's fault I'm even reading the book. She posted a link to that New York article on fantasy novels, and this one intrigued me.
So anyway, yeah, I do NOT want to be here, cleaning up yet another of S---'s messes (haha that rhymes). I want to curl up in bed and read.
And eat chocolate.
Chocolate is always good.
