I definitely agree with you regarding the being poor there than rich anywhere else. And here where I live, I have to drive at least half an hour to get to the nearest Target. I know that's small change to you, but I think I could adapt more easily to a 300 mile trip for shoes than someone who lived and worked and played in a five mile radius. ;)
I went to the Little Bighorn about 15 years ago with my grandparents, and I'm sad that I haven't been able to get back. My dad would enjoy seeing it, even though it post-dates the Civil War a bit. I'll definitely let you know next time I get there, though! (And if you ever see one of those "Custer died for your sins" bumper stickers out that way, let me know? I tried to find one and couldn't last time...)
