I'm going on vacation tomorrow. Planned with enthusiasm a long time ago, and yet, due mostly to losing Merlin, I don't think I've ever been utterly unexcited about a vacation as I am now.

But I'm packed. Do your worst, Montana, I have the clothes to keep from freezing or sweating. I have cowboy boots. I have notebooks to scribble in. I have AAA maps. I have antidepressants. I have my phone. I have money. That's all a girl needs.

Oh.

That and the bears:





Because no trip is complete without bears.

Pack lots of extra socks. It is very, very, very damp hereabouts. Eastern end of the state, where I live, is practically underwater and western end, where you are visiting, it still cold and snowy.


When It's Spring Time in the Rockies, goes the song, it is often cold and wet.

I took your advice! I'm glad I did! So far we've had snow on the ground but nothing falling, which I'm grateful for. I am amazed at how much water is all over the place here. I guess downtown Bozeman is underwater, and it looks like it's a good thing we're not traveling further east on I-90, since it appears to be covered in water as well. I hope you're keeping dry and safe!
