Making me cry is not the way to cheer me up! Then again, sentimental tears are at least good ones. Plus, I am kidding you. ;)
But it is a beautiful chapter. I'm always amazed at the style you use for these pieces, how well you shift into it and work it, so different from your other writing. There's much poetry, imagery and visceralness that comes with these stories.
To describe these works simply as "sappy" or "fluffy" is to miss the deeper intent of the work - in my humble opinion, of course.
"I love you," Remus whispers. "I love you, I love you."
To me, that's not mindless sentiment, but the result of emotion overwhelming Remus, and having nowhere to go - rising until it burbles out of him in the simplest, most useless words with only his entire being behind them. I've had that feeling. And I wish it on anyone and everyone, but especially on your readers so they can see what I do in these stories.
