This is probably WAY too much information, but what the heck. Some of you were interested and I think it will be useful to have this all in one place, so, here you have a discussion of my own personal kinks and squicks. Yes, we're talking about smut.
Warning: Some discussion of rape and other potentially disturbing content. Also, um, yeah, NC-17 rated I guess.
I'll add, also, that this should not be taken as a commentary on my actual sex life, which is nonexistent.

Squicks: These are fairly easy, as I generally know what I can't handle.
- Adultery. Honestly, it makes me sick to my stomach to read adultery, even if it works and is perfect in the context of the fic. I can handle it if it is briefly mentioned and isn't the focus of the fic (as in, it's not someone in the main pairing that's committed adultery).
- Humiliation. I will clarify this to say humiliation in front of other people or something that makes one partner feel humiliated, even in private. I'll add that I could barely stand to watch The Wonder Years because Fred Savage's character embarrassed himself so often. I feel pain for characters who embarrass themselves, and humiliation in a relationship is even worse.
- Necrophilia. Ick. Blargh. *barf* 'Nuff said.
- Scat. Just gross.
- Rape. Have to qualify this one. I don't want to see one of the characters in a pairing rape someone--either within the pairing or someone else. I don't mind if one of them is the victim of a rape, though I'd rather it not be written out graphically and I definitely want to see it treated realistically, with all the fallout as something that has to be dealt with.
- Chan.
- Bestiality. I don't find it as squicky if it's Remus-mind-in-Moony-body, but...that's still kinda squicky to me.
- Non-con/Dub-con. I feel like there's some sort of difference between rape and non-con, but I'm not sure what it is. So it falls under my squick heading, too.
- Character Death. Not Snape or Lupin. Everyone else is fair game.
- Severus paired with someone other than Remus; Remus paired with someone other than Severus. Yes, I've written both in the past. It's not happening anymore. Kinks: The good stuff.
- Light bondage. Tying up, blindfolding, teasing, denial, use of fun implements. All good. I also like heavier bondage when it focuses on the psychological aspects. One particular thing I find hot is when one of them holds the other's hand against the bed/floor/wall/etc. That strikes me as lovely and intimate.
- Cross-dressing. In particular, I love it when Snape turns out to have fabulous legs in a short skirt. However, I definitely want them to be men in dresses, not girls with mannish names. Don't give me no uke!Snupin. *grin*
- Table/desk sex. Do I need to elaborate?
- Wallsex. I've mentioned this before, I think.
- Cuddling. Especially when Snape secretly loves to cuddle.
- Rimming. Didn't really expect to like this, but...yeah.
- Light Bloodplay. As in, Remus biting Severus just enough to draw blood, and asking the same in return. I like it especially when it ties into Remus' lycanthropy. Going along with this, biting is hawt. Rowr.
- Growling Remus. *swoon* Not necessarily Alpha!Remus, though I like that, but a Remus that doesn't allow himself to be walked all over.
Things that make me go "meh":
- Threesomes. Can be fun and hot when well done - depends on the three as well.
- Tonks. I like her with other people (particularly Charlie or Percy). Not Remus.
- Mpreg. Really not my thing. I've read it in a few fics where it's been well-done, but generally I avoid stories with this label.
- Hidden relationships/sex. Sometimes it's fun. Mostly not. For me, I think it depends on whether they're hiding it because they're ashamed, or if they're hiding it for safety reason. I like the latter - as in, Snape and Lupin are both spying against Voldemort and have to keep their relationship hidden.
I could go into the various characterisations of Remus and Severus that are turnons or turnoffs for me, but when I started to do that, I realized that could take another whole post. So we'll just stick to the smut in this one. ^_~
And finally, as a disclaimer to the entire list, there are some authors who can make me read anything, regardless of its position on this list or non-inclusion here. So that just goes to show there's an exception to every rule.
