Random fandom stuff, which I think isn't spoilery

If I keep seeing "Snily" being used as a valid ship name, I may throw something.  I am so sick of these squished together pairing names.  I may have to stop using "Snupin" entirely just in reaction.  Every time I see "Snily" I think it says Smelly.  Which is not how I used to see that ship.  I like the idea of a Snape/Lily FRIENDSHIP, but the ship itself...meh, not so much.  But anyway, I never loathed Snape/Lily, I just hate the squishy-name.

Then again, I've read the new canon, I've disliked it, I've processed it, and I've decided to go back to the sandbox of earlier canon. *grin*

I've even decided to finish These Deep Solitudes, the first epic fic I ever wrote, which I abandoned when OotP came out because of how distraught I was over Sirius' death and how it jossed my fic.  (BTW will someone explain "joss" to me?  I know it's to do with Joss Wedon and I think Firefly? but I must have missed how the term came to be.)

However I felt about the book, I had a fabulous time at the t00bery in Chicago, and I am so so glad to have met new friends.  Not to mention thesnapelyone and I went in costume and acted as generally slashy as possible.  Though I must say, I heard a lot of people whispering "Look, it's Snape!" but very few people saw my tatty sweater and patched robes and said "OMG Remus is snuggling with Snape!"  *grin*
