You're just made of awesome. And really, I can get interested in a lot of different topics, based on research. Heck, I have a passionate interest in cancer, despite the unpleasantness of the topic, just because I decided to write a novel-length fanfic about it and started doing research.
I worked for Purdue for a couple of years, back when I first got on LJ, which would be back when you and I first "met". So that might be the connection you're thinking of. :)
