Oh, you have a good point about the early stages -- maybe he was aware of all he was going to forget, and he wanted to cling to them? But it still didn't at all make him a sympathetic villain the way "True Night" or "Tabula Rasa" depicted more sympathetic unsubs. :P
I agree with you, though, that focusing on Rossi and his dealing with the case was great. And I personally loved Hotch's show of faith in Dave that, even though they didn't hold back what they thought was the profile, he still told Dave to pursue his gut feeling. I ♥ their friendship.
