Yes, and what Dean doesn't think about, as slightlyjillian pointed out to me today, is that he was DEAD FOR MONTHS. Everything he said about Sam? He was that person for Sam, and he was GONE. So Sam did what he could, and when Dean came back, it was hard to back away from the decisions he'd already made. *wibble*
