Okay, show of hands, who's on Dreamwidth? Are we circled there? If not, please feel free to circle me. I have two: Innerslytherin and writing journal (my real name). At some point, if I leave LJ for good, I'll probably transition most of my stuff to my real name journal.

*stomps foot* This is haaaaaaard! *whines*

I don't want to leave LJ. I'm not yet leaving LJ for good, but I really really really would prefer to start checking my flist there instead of here. It's super easy to set up Dreamwidth to crosspost to LJ, which is what I'm doing currently anyway. If LJ does what I expect and ignores the outcry (because really, when haven't they ignored public outcry?), we'll have that nasty friends view pushed on us, and I will not check my flist here anymore. It's ugly, I have my customized LJ layout for my pleasure and no one else's, and this is my line in the sand.

I love you all a lot, but please please tell me if you're on DW or moving to DW, or if you're most active elsewhere (Tumblr, etc). I'm not very active on Tumblr, but I'll happily follow people and check in from time to time.

ETA: I'll still respond to any comments left here. I'm just not planning to read this new feed format they're showing.

You need to crosspost to DW! It's easy--you can set up the DW account to post automatically to your LJ account, and then what you do is post your journal entries on DW first, then let it automatically post at LJ. I don't remember if you use Semagic to post, or if you just type your entries at the LJ website. If you use Semagic, it just takes a one-time setup and then it's easy as pie (that's what I do). If you type your entries at the LJ website, it would take a little more effort for you, just to get used to the DW website. :(

I'll still respond to comments posted here. I just can't stand the look of that friend feed page, so I won't be reading here.

Okay, I've seen some grumbling about LJ, but what did they DO? All I've seen so far is this new feed thing that replaces the friends feature, and they made me change my password, which isn't unprecedented. Is there something worse, or am I just too easy going about these things?

It's the new friends feed. They haven't forced it yet, but it's in beta, which seems to be LJ-speak for "going to happen whether you like it or not." Changing the feed to be ugly and uncustomizable and, for me at least, more difficult to read, is just the last straw. *sigh*

I HAVE a DW... I have not yet decided for sure to move everything over there, though. But if they force the move to the crappy tumblr style friends page, I'll more heavily consider it.

Not that I post a lot here lately anyways, I've been so busy (and I don't think I'm going to be getting less busy anytime soon.)
