I'm going on vacation tomorrow. Planned with enthusiasm a long time ago, and yet, due mostly to losing Merlin, I don't think I've ever been utterly unexcited about a vacation as I am now.

But I'm packed. Do your worst, Montana, I have the clothes to keep from freezing or sweating. I have cowboy boots. I have notebooks to scribble in. I have AAA maps. I have antidepressants. I have my phone. I have money. That's all a girl needs.

Oh.

That and the bears:

Because no trip is complete without bears.

Of course no trip is complete without bears! We always have at least one with us when we go somewhere. And frequently come home with more because we see cute ones that remind us of our vacation. So I hope you and your bears have a wonderful vacation!

Our lodge last night had a bear on one of the beds as part of the decor. I wanted to steal it, but the best friend wouldn't let me. ;)

I've been doing pictures of the bears in all sorts of historic and scenic locations for at least two decades, so I think someone stole my idea for that one commercial. *G* I'm glad someone else does this though. It always embarrasses my best friend. *sigh*

I know things will feel like utter suck for awhile because you miss your box. But try to have a good time and know that you are loved. *hugs*

And that would be "boy", not "box." Sorry. Just woke up and am groggy like hell.

Pack lots of extra socks. It is very, very, very damp hereabouts. Eastern end of the state, where I live, is practically underwater and western end, where you are visiting, it still cold and snowy.

When It's Spring Time in the Rockies, goes the song, it is often cold and wet.

I took your advice! I'm glad I did! So far we've had snow on the ground but nothing falling, which I'm grateful for. I am amazed at how much water is all over the place here. I guess downtown Bozeman is underwater, and it looks like it's a good thing we're not traveling further east on I-90, since it appears to be covered in water as well. I hope you're keeping dry and safe!

Thanks! I thought of you and your hubby when we were at Glacier National Park. There's a highway that is usually bumper to bumper traffic, but right now it's still closed due to snow and rock fall, open only to foot and bike traffic. :) Since he likes running in the mountains and you ride your bike a lot, I thought you two might enjoy it!

Enjoy yourself! Downtime is always needed and appreciated. ;-)

So far I am! Though with the amount of driving we're doing, I think downtime will happen on Tuesday when I get back to work! ;)
