ARGH
Dear LiveJournal,
I do NOT want my entries or comments posted to Twtiter or Facebook! STOP ASKING ME! And why did you interfere with the flow of "type comment - hit tab - hit enter - post"??? Now when I do that you ask me to set my Facebook and Twitter settings! NO NO NO! Some of us use keyboard shortcuts and the TAB key and you have MESSED THAT UP!
Not much love right now,
Me
In other news, I think I had a date tonight, but I'm not sure. He's going on vacation Thursday, so I guess I'll find out after Labor Day if it was a date or just drinks that lasted for an hour and a half.
There's a reason I don't date much. Or maybe this is WHY I don't date much. >.>

Why, LJ, why do you go so far out of your way to fail????
ETA: Hope you had fun on your 'date'!

I did have fun! Whether it was a date or not. *G*
Correct me if I'm wrong...
I also liked the fact I could restrict the inclusion of search engines for my journal.
I think ...I may be wrong...but LJ needed to do this to maintain some 'flexibility' for posters.
I personally liked the idea of having the option.
Re: Correct me if I'm wrong...
Every time I comment to someone, I have to be careful to type over the "Repost settings", and that's what really annoys me. It would be SOOOO easy to accidentally repost one of my comments or something to Facebook, and I do NOT connect my fandom identity with my Facebook presence.
Not only that, but the way they have it set up, one of my LJ friends could comment on one of my friends-locked LJ entries and then repost that comment to Facebook, which I feel strongly is a violation of my privacy. I realize the words are someone else's, but the locked-entry is mine, and there are still questions, from what I understand, about what actual content is posted to Twitter or Facebook.
These two things are what I actually object to, rather than the convenience of reposting to FB or Twitter. Then again, I already have something set up with my writing journal to crosspost it to FB and Twitter, and that was before LJ set up the crossposting options.
So I've disabled the option to repost my journal entries, but I'm very wary, and I don't really want to go friends-only again (which I did for a while after my last bad breakup), but I might have to. :/
Then again, you're one of my friends, so you won't miss anything either way. LOL
Re: Correct me if I'm wrong...
My understanding is that it will link to the flocked entry but unless your on the flist, you can't access the actual locked entry. HOWEVER, if the the fb posted comment includes any quoting of your flocked post (as I quoted in this one), then THAT will be readable.
It doesn't really auto opt you in...unless the accts are already connected, I think. I haven't connected my fb/twitter to my LJ and it won't let me click in the radio boxes for the repost settings (which is why it skips it when I hit tab to post! *lol*) I dunno. Stupid LJ is stupid. Par for the course!
Re: Correct me if I'm wrong...
But you're right, it doesn't actually show the entry, but it DOES show the person's comment, and right here you just quoted a bunch of what I wrote in your comment. LOL But more seriously, you can often pretty much get the gist of what a f-locked entry is about if you can read a comment someone made to it. :/
Also? I really don't want some of my real life friends knowing I write explicit slash. LOL

Also, I would probably be horrified if anything I ever posted at LiveJournal inadvertently cross-posted to my facebook account. I'm sure it's not likely to happen, but still. I don't like it. At all.
On a happier note... hooray for dating out of nowhere!!! :) :) :)

I agree with this. :)

Not to mention, I already had something set up to crosspost my writing LJ to Facebook and Twitter, and that was before LJ set this up. So I didn't need LJ to do it for me.

THIS. THIS TIMES A THOUSAND. And with the way I always "typity-tab-enter" to comment to things? I am going to be in a constant state of paranoia now. Eight years of muscle memory is a hard thing to overcome. :(
But yes, it really was out of nowhere (and ironically a high school guy I've gotten to know on Facebook haha)! We'll see if I hear back from him. LOL

You've read that epic fanfic from the 90s right? The one with Star Wars from Wedge's point of view?
