ARGH

Dear LiveJournal,

I do NOT want my entries or comments posted to Twtiter or Facebook!  STOP ASKING ME!  And why did you interfere with the flow of "type comment - hit tab - hit enter - post"???  Now when I do that you ask me to set my Facebook and Twitter settings!  NO NO NO!  Some of us use keyboard shortcuts and the TAB key and you have MESSED THAT UP!

Not much love right now,

Me

In other news, I think I had a date tonight, but I'm not sure.  He's going on vacation Thursday, so I guess I'll find out after Labor Day if it was a date or just drinks that lasted for an hour and a half.

There's a reason I don't date much. Or maybe this is WHY I don't date much.  >.>

Somethings going on with Twitter and getting it on the phone at the moment. It's very irritating

I'm still not able to authenticate my password on my iPhone and it started yesterday!! Frustrating

I was going to comment that I hope I don't accidentally repost comments from lj onto Facebook or Twitter because I don't want to, but noticed that there are boxes to tick if I wanted to do so .... so I should be safe in not accidentally reposting anything .... can't see the point anyway ... who would know what you were talking about?

Oh, and btw, any tags you have with a slash mark (yes, I mean "/") no longer work. Like, you know, pairing tags (oh, like Rossi/Prentiss, Hotch/Reid, Hotch/Rossi, etc., etc.)

*sigh*

Why, LJ, why do you go so far out of your way to fail????

ETA: Hope you had fun on your 'date'!

Correct me if I'm wrong...

I just went through my account settings. And you can disable the options to repost on FB and Twitter in the privacy section. This includes comments.

I also liked the fact I could restrict the inclusion of search engines for my journal.

I think ...I may be wrong...but LJ needed to do this to maintain some 'flexibility' for posters.

I personally liked the idea of having the option.

Not only that, but the way they have it set up, one of my LJ friends could comment on one of my friends-locked LJ entries and then repost that comment to Facebook, which I feel strongly is a violation of my privacy. I realize the words are someone else's, but the locked-entry is mine, and there are still questions, from what I understand, about what actual content is posted to Twitter or Facebook.

My understanding is that it will link to the flocked entry but unless your on the flist, you can't access the actual locked entry. HOWEVER, if the the fb posted comment includes any quoting of your flocked post (as I quoted in this one), then THAT will be readable.

It doesn't really auto opt you in...unless the accts are already connected, I think. I haven't connected my fb/twitter to my LJ and it won't let me click in the radio boxes for the repost settings (which is why it skips it when I hit tab to post! *lol*) I dunno. Stupid LJ is stupid. Par for the course!

I am so tired of facebook. I mean like--SO TIRED. I came back to LJ to get AWAY from facebook. And honestly, I don't really get the point of cross-posting anyway. If someone is too busy to do anything more than type something about themselves and cross post it to Facebook/Twitter/LJ/Tumblr/etc., they really have no business being on all those sites anyway. Meh. It's annoying.

Also, I would probably be horrified if anything I ever posted at LiveJournal inadvertently cross-posted to my facebook account. I'm sure it's not likely to happen, but still. I don't like it. At all.

On a happier note... hooray for dating out of nowhere!!! :) :) :)

I agree with this. :)

Haha--date. :) Whatever it was--if he was cute and interesting--it's a good time, yeah?! *grin*

uh... there were other people in the film besides Wedge? LOL.

You've read that epic fanfic from the 90s right? The one with Star Wars from Wedge's point of view?

Hmm, trying the type comment, tab, enter thingy here cus I normally don't do that, which is odd cus I'm usually one to do things via the kb. Anyhow, in Opera, it skips the "repost settings" boxes. Once I type this and hit tab, it goes directly to the post comment button, so I'd have to actually click on the boxes if I wanted to repost...not that I would, cus yanno, most of my fb peeps don't know about the whole slash thing.

Another reason to ♥ my browser.
