Dear Criminal Minds,
1. Stop shoving Garcia in my face. I used to like her, but you're pissing me off. Going "LOOK WE KEPT A GIRL! WE KEPT A GIRL!" is not going to cut it. You fired your two kickass real FBI agents who actually, y'know, carry guns and catch people. I used to love Garcia but that love is fading fast.
2. Don't let Simon Mirren write any more episodes. Ever. Making Garcia's hobby acting was as lazy as making Reid's hobby magic tricks. LAZY CHARACTERIZATION. Next are you going to tell me that Paget Brewster had an abortion at 15 and her friend started doing drugs because of it?
3. Did I say enough of the Garcia already? I meant it. But while she's in the background, make her get rid of that orange hair for good. It's NOT flattering. Please God let Prentiss have bleached it instead of giving her a wig.
4. I liked the actual case. Of course, I'm in love with Cary Grant, so anything 50s-esque gets an automatic pass from me, and I thought the guest star was lovely. (Not Sally Kirkland so much, she just sort of stood there being Mommy Dearest. WTF.)
5. As much as I say enough Garcia? New blonde "FBI Cadet" chick in the spoilers? DO. NOT. WANT.
6. Two entire episodes with gigantic leaps in logic and lazy characterization in this episode. Guys, the acting has been superb (well, aside from Kirsten, who was just melodrama central this week), but even the best acting can't save crappy writing. Can y'all get Oanh Ly or PLEASE GOD Andrew Wilder back? PLEASE? Oh MAN do I miss those two.
7. Is this me being bitter? Quite possibly. But seriously. This is like Supernatural. I wish they'd ended SPN last season, and now I'm starting to wish they'd ended CM before they start strangling it.
Love, lots and lots of love, but serious disappointment,
Me

I said elsewhere that the procedural part came across like a bad CSI. I didn't mind the Hitchcock homages, but still, my overall takeaway was no.

Bitter? Eh, maybe. But you've got company.

I love Garcia. At least, I love Garcia of the past six seasons. This Garcia? Super-awesome-media-publicist-JJ replacement Garcia? Not so much.
And the stories have been pretty damn lazy this season. There have been some really good team interaction moments (and any time Hotch gets to act all Hotch-y makes me happy), but the overall story plotlines have seemed forced. And overly contrived. And seriously lacking in logic.
*another sigh*
:(
(Although Hotch sounding a wee
jealousannoyed that Reid was checking out the girls at the train station was a little bit awesome.)no subject
And I loved Garcia of the first seasons, but this year she's really trying too hard, and it's showing. :/
But yes, the train station scene rocked. :D

Oh, love Garcia but her metamorphose to a blonde colored vamp didn´t work for me in this ep. Only the moment Rossi told her: "You´ll be great, Red." was worth the whole set up.
Luckily we had a hot Rossi in white shirt and jeans (no suit or tie), Emily who definitely has the "walk" :-) and her almost help seeking: "Rossi. Her lips." I definitely see her grasping his hand outside the screen :-)
Hope, there will be some better eps, soon. I liked the last one but I hate that Rossi and Prentiss more than once have those `damn´ one-line scenes.

I missed the first 15 mins, so really can't comment overly on the ep until I watch it all...but I found some of the acting of the support cast to be a bit ... wooden.
And hey, you got Rossi and Prentiss sitting together--more than I got with the boys. *sigh* ;)

I thought our general crew did a good job, and I thought Knepper (?) did a good job. Well, and the kid was good. But yeah.
