I was going to make a post whining about work, but I realized that I do
that nearly every weekday. Why do you guys put up with me?

So instead I will just post that someday I hope I have enough money to
travel to the Sahara. It's not the top of my travel list, of course.
The British Isles is my number one travel destination. But the Sahara
is my exotic travel dream.

It's one that resurfaces every year in January or February, when it's
cold here and the holidays are over so winter is just miserable now
instead of exciting. I have a longing to be somewhere that's not here,
somewhere warm and sunny.

I would take Florida, San Diego, or the Caribbean, but the Sahara is a
someday dream.

Australia is beautiful too! And hot at the moment in Adelaide. Tomorrow is supposed to be about 40C. That's about 105F I think. Actually, I don't think this summer has been that much of a scorcher yet. Usually we have lots of days above 40. And at least a few heatwaves. We haven't had a heatwave yet. You could probably fry an egg on your front porch. Ewww don't think I'd eat it though! LOL

And now I've probably spoke too soon and jinxed myself and in the next couple of weeks it's gonna hit us. Holy fuck I hate it when it's that hot. I can't sleep. The air con is running 24/7 and if I stand in the sun for more than 10 mins I burn. yay for fair skin!

Thank god I don't live in the Australian outback. It gets even hotter out there.

I'd love to go to the British Isles. It's absolutely beautiful there! And America, I love to go there too one day. You know...if I ever win a humungous amount of money! And now I'm gonna stop cause I'm just raving on.

You know, I had always wanted to visit Australia, until I heard that y'all have lots of terrifying poisonous creatures. Even then I might not have been deterred...until I saw pictures of Huntsman spiders along with indicators of relative size.

That was when I decided that the Scared Weird Little Guys might be right... *G*

Ah yes we do have lots of deadly creatures over here.

Actually, this is really freaky, cause when I went outside to give my dogs some fresh water there was a huge huntsman in their water bowl. Fucking huge! I hate spiders! I know it's just trying to cool off cause is bloody hot today but c'mon spidys "I is afraid of you little freaks". I didn't kill it. I was too afraid to. Usually I go through half a can of spray trying to kill the bastards and they still keep going. I'm just hoping it doesn't crawl out of the bowl and come inside. Just the thought of it creeps me out.

And just yesterday a guy was at the beach and got bit by a shark. He survived thank god.

I suppose I should go check on that spider. Maybe I can squish it with the broom or a brick! EEEwwww

That song does crack me up. But it also reinforces my fear of Australia. *G*

(That said, I have a long-standing love for Australia, and I really do want to go there someday. Once they've invented spider repellent.)

I think that if I were in huntsman territory, I would carry a handgun just to protect myself from the scary crooky legs. *shudders*

I vote you and I run away together to the Caribbean. We'll start a retreat in some isolated place and build our house in front of a huge waterfall and teach yoga in the mornings to people that have entirely too much money.

Then we'll laze the rest of the day away in hammocks, with island music and a breeze coming in off the ocean, pina coladas in hand as we teach the people with too much money the fine art of rest and relaxation.

Of course, this may involve changing our names and faking our deaths to capitalize on the insurance money. How do you feel about becoming an Antonia? I, of course, will be Evelyn.

And you can have your choice of tall, musclebound, handsome men (or the geeky types, whatever, I don't judge), and I shall have my island flower who looks good in a sarong and little else.

Maybe you can talk one of your handsome studs into buying you a sailboat. Of course, then we'd have to find someone to do all the manual labor while we laid out on the deck. Hey, looking that amazing is hard work, you know.

What a difficult life we would lead! Woe is us! Woe!

1) that would have increased the straight-girl to queer ratio, and I can't be outnumbered by beautiful, untouchable women, that shit's depressing.

Take it from the british girl - its really not that interesting over here, its cold and wet all year round, we have some hills, a couple of castles, londons good for about 2 days and thats about it lol. id stick to the caribbean or some where warm =p
