I'm glad you like it! ^__^ Yes, I think the fic is accessible for people who haven't seen the movie, but of course the narrative voice means more to people who have. I do definitely recommend the movie. Then again, I'd pay money to sit and watch Val Kilmer make faces at the camera for an hour. *grin* I'm glad you liked Remus' characterization. I like to think he can be a badass and still be himself. ^_^
