innerslytherin: (sleepy)
I am one grumpy chica this morning. I know I went to bed a little later than I meant to, but by 11:30 I was in bed, sipping hot lemon tea and listening to Joe Mantegna read to me ([livejournal.com profile] darkhawlhealer, have I told you how much I'm enjoying this? ROWR. Though listening to him read about sex was a little weird.) It clearly didn't matter that I was in bed by 11:30, because an entire CD later, I was still wide awake. I got up and switched to the next CD, then finally fell asleep sometime during that, but I'm guessing it was after 1 am before I got to sleep.

Then 3:45 am rolls around...and I'm suddenly wide awake again, after a dream that [livejournal.com profile] aoibhe had been betaing a fic for me and sent back a huge long email saying how disappointed she was in it, and even including a list of like four reasons why Rossi wouldn't do the things I had him doing. After a quick trip to the bathroom, I go back to bed...and lay there, wide awake. Flop over to my side. Flop over to the other side. Flop onto my back. Sigh and punch the pillow into shape. Flop back over onto my side.

After my shower, I discovered I've lost part of the noise-cancelling earbuds I use to block out Dad's daily NPR "Morning Edition". I don't think it really made much difference, though; I probably wouldn't have got back to sleep anyway.

So I've been awake since quarter of four, and already I can hear the AP ladies being loud about making plans that very clearly exclude C and S and me, and I know [livejournal.com profile] severity_softly probably won't be around today, and frankly I'm just pissy about everything.

I'm cleaning, going through old papers and sorting them into three piles: scrapbook, file, and pitch. So I'll probably be posting all kinds of stuff I want to remember here.

"Fiction does not ever answer questions. It keeps them from coming up. That's how we create worlds."
- Chuck Wachtel

Indiana wines, quotes, etc... )

The fun part is going to be doing the filing and scrapbooking. Hahahaha not.
