Autumn pictures

Went hiking with Mom today. Dad rode along and read in the car, and was supposed to pick us up at the other end of the trail. Instead Mom and I ended up hiking twice as far as we meant to because he never showed up and his phone was going right to voicemail without a signal. Oh well, had fun. The modern equivalent of the CCC (I can't remember what they called them this year) has obviously been installing signs, and it was fun to discover all of them. They have history of the park as well as natural features and wildlife. Some of those are pictured behind the cut too.

These are beautiful. :) I went out to take some pictures of the foliage today myself, but the epic windstorm we had last night had destroyed most of it already, heh. I'll live vicariously through your pictures. :)

I love the pictures of the trees. I can't imagine ever living in an area that didn't have trees that changed colors. My son and daughter-in-law (and the triplets) live in southern Georgia and I'm not sure if they any trees that change like this. I think I like the reds and the oranges the best. Thanks for sharing these with us!

The pictures are gorgeous! Absolutely beautiful. Where do you actually live? If I didn´t know better this could be Germany right now. Around Munich the forest appears in the same way.

Yeah, I swear, men don't listen very well. LOL It's neat that the pictures look like Germany! I'm in Indiana, which is the middle part of the US, south of the Great Lakes.

Thanks! I think I would be fine without winter, but I agree with you--I would miss the turning of the leaves. Every time people talk about the gorgeous leaves in Brown County or the New England Autumn colors, I laugh though. I think it's just as pretty here where I live.

Autumn is great. Though of course I also get wanderlust in autumn. But just two more days and a quick trip to Nashville! Better than nothing, right? :)
