The cool people of spn_reviews do better than I do (last night's is here) but I will do my best. :D
So Sam and Dean are in the old monastery with Lucifer breaking free, all painful white light and painful noise (remember how Castiel was in his first episode)--and then suddenly they're on a plane flying over the place where they were, and this huge column of white light shoots up into the sky past the plane. Then they're in a car, and apparently that whole place was decimated. They find Chuck, whose house is wrecked. The archangels blew Castiel apart, he tells them--literally, as he has a molar in his hair.
Zacharias and his goons show up then and tell Dean that they're on the same side again (Dean responds by calling Zacharias an ass-hat). They argue for a while and then Dean banishes them with that sigil drawn in his own blood.
They have an angsty conversation about their brotherly split, during which Dean's position is to basically not rehash it. He says they need to approach this like any other case. So they have to find the Devil.
They end up in a rundown hotel (called the Regent Inn, which amuses me both because of the royalty image and because I have a series of original novels set around a place called Regent's Castle). Bobby arrives and they're reading to find out about the apocalypse.
Switch to a fangirl writing Sam/Dean slash on a Winchester fansite, one of Chuck's fangirls. Chuck calls her on a webcam and tells her that it's all real (cue literal fangirl squee) and that he needs her to take a message to Sam & Dean because he has a prophecy but he's being watched.
She goes to the hotel, where she gushes over Sam and won't stop touching him, and tells Dean he's not what she imagined. Chuck's prophecy is that the Sword of Michael is at a castle built on a hill of forty-two dogs. None of them know what it means.
Sam tells Bobby how he started the apocalypse, at which point Bobby rips him a new one, tells him that sort of thing isn't forgiven, and tells him to lose his number once this is over. Sam is devastated and goes away. Dean and Bobby do a little more and then Dean realizes that Daddy Winchester knew where the sword was -- there's a business card in the Journal that is for Castle Storage at 42 Rover Lane.
That's when Bobby kicks DEAN'S ass. Only for real, throwing him into walls and stuff, and we realize Bobby has black eyes. Demon!Bobby lets in three other demons, including a chicky who identifies herself as Meg in a new body. Sam comes back but is surprised. The demons do some general ass-kicking, then Meg gives Bobby the knife and tells him to kill Dean.
Instead Bobby stabs himself in the side with the knife, killing the demon. They take out the two thug demons, but Meg flees her vessel's body. The boys rush Bobby to the emergency room and then split.
When they get to Castle storage, they find lots of dead bodies and no sword. Then Zacharias and two goon angels show up and inform Dean that HE is the sword of Michael--Michael's vessel. Dean tells them to eat him, and Zacharias breaks Sam's legs. Then, as Dean continues to refuse, Zacharias gives Dean Stage IV stomach cancer and then takes away Sam's lungs.
